Lynn Haney has been handcrafting collectible, heirloom-quality Santas since 1987. Beginning with one simple design as a hobby over 30 years ago, the entire Santa Collection now boasts over 700 original designs – each signed by the artist himself!
The Santas are inspired from Lynn’s own childhood memories, as well as from folk art from Hungary, India, and Germany. His studio consisting of over 25 artists and craftsmen, was located in Lubbock, Texas. Lynn is quick to share the credit and praise for his designs with each of the talented craftsmen who was an integral part of the creative process.
As of January, 2017, Lynn has decided to take a “Santa Sabbatical” after 30 years of designing and producing his beloved Santas. Here is a word from Lynn…
To our friends and family,
It is hard to believe it has been 30 years for the Lynn Haney Collection. What started with a few Santa designs turned into a collection of over 700 different styles for everyone from Neiman Marcus, Colonial Williamsburg, Disney, and countless Christmas stores and boutiques across the country. I never guessed there were so many “Christmas Enthusiasts” out there who would collect and admire my designs. For that, I feel very rewarded and grateful. The pleasure I have had in designing, planning, and producing my designs has sustained me knowing I have had such a grateful audience.
And…. even though Santa has been Very Good to me…. It is time to change directions. This will be my last season to produce Santas from our Texas studio. After designing and producing well over 150,000 pieces, I am taking a “Santa Sabbatical.” I will be joining my wife, twin daughters and son- in- law in our family gift business. At 67…. this will be a time to change gears for my wife and me and enjoy the fruits of our 30-year path.
There will be Santas available at www.hollyhocksgifts.com. I will be doing some limited production in 2017. Any pieces available for sale will be featured on line throughout the year. As I make new pieces (very small editions) they will be added. I will also be selling numerous retired pieces.
I will still be designing for Peking Handicraft (pillows, stockings and tea towels) Caspari (Paper goods, gift wrap and cards) and a new venture with One Hundred 80 Degrees (Santa figures to be produced by them based on Lynn’s approved design.) All of these items will be available at Hollyhocks.
I am grateful and humbled by our success; thanks to so many wonderful retailers and collectors over the years.
